“Even if we have to send it from home.”
Blizzard is committed to delivering the latest Shadowlands World of Warcraft expansion “this fall.” The update takes place amidst the uncertainty of the corona virus and after today’s livestream was relocated in June because of protests against Black Lives Matter.
“You have our promise that we will release Shadowlands this fall,” executive producer John Hight said today, “even if we ultimately ship it from home.”
He added that the Shadowlands beta will start next week. Many more invitations will be sent out later in the summer. Go to your account settings and verify that you have chosen betas and “be patient,” said Game Director Ion Hazzikostas.
By the way, beta means that the game is complete, but there is still a lot to do. For the beta, the level cap will rise to 60 and we will get our first glimpse of endgame content.
By the way, if you’re confused by the level 60 remark, keep in mind that Shadowlands will bring the out of control World of Warcraft levels back down to manageable numbers. However, this does not mean that you can use fewer skills. I spoke to Blizzard about Shadowlands Level Squash last year.
Blizzard ended its livestream today with a comment about the Black Lives Matter movement.
“We originally planned to do this stream a month ago, and then we had some other material,” said Ion Hazzikostas. “But we then postponed it so as not to distract from a more important conversation. But of course this conversation is still taking place. Injustice doesn’t stop just because we look away. Black lives were important a month ago, black lives are important today. And if so, sentence is difficult to hear, know that me and others who speak these words do not say that your life is worth less, we only draw attention to the way in which our societies commemorate it seem that black lives are important.
“As John [Hight] said these are extremely difficult times and we can often help simply by listening with open hearts. So be friendly to each other, stay safe and see you in Azeroth and the shadow lands beyond. “
